August Challenge -  Discover the You Inside- Day 11

Today I'm going to give us a couple of videos that together will give you a full workout.  If you choose to do only part of the workout, that is totally okay, choose your target area(s). 

5 Minute Arms:
This 5 minute video requires no equipment.  It is designed to help you work your shoulders and arms. 





Barre Workout
This video is an adaptation of a classic ballet barre to incorporate cardio.  It will take you about 11 minutes and it will tone your butt, abs and inner thighs.  It will also work your feet.  You will need a chair, counter, or barre for balance in this workout. 





Quick Sweat Cardio Workout
Our third video is very short - just 8 minutes.  Of course, you'll be moving for the whole time, so you'll be sweating when you're done.  This is NOT a great workout for the office unless you happen to have a shower handy.   You will not need any equipment for this video, just some perseveranceI hope you enjoy it.

5-Minute Office Friendly Workout- This video offers some great all-over exercises you can do at the office.  If you want to adopt it as your regular routine, you will want to invest in an exercise band.

Happy Sunday - Can you believe we've made it 10 days into this challenge?

As usual, if today's workout does not grab you, feel free to do the workout from another day, or take a walk to get your workout today.  While you're walking, do some arm circles to make sure you're getting that all over workout we're aiming for. 



We'll start with a  "4 Minutes Morning Energizer Workout ". This video will help you get your day started and help you feel wide awake (like a cup of coffee or a glass of Greens.)  

Now you have two options:

  1. You can do a fun physical weekend activity: go swimming with your friends (or kids), or go for a hike, or ride bikes, or go dancing... whatever you want.  Claim your activity on our Facebook group - brag about how much fun you had with your workout today. :) 

  2. Continue and do the video below.  It's up to you. Our second video is about 9 minutes, and it's called "Fat-Burning Country Aerobics Workout".  There is no equipment needed for this video.  You will be getting a great cardio workout, so it is both targeting fat burning and heart health.  And then a final video just to cool down and stretch: Quick Full Body Stretches & Cool Down

Our other option, mentioned above, is not a video - take a nice long walk (30 minutes) to get your legs in constant motion.  Walking is very good for you.  Check out this great article from the Mayo Clinic for a weight loss plan based entirely on walking.

Morning Yoga Poses For Energy:
This 4 minute video requires no equipment.  It is designed to give you energy at the start of the day.  It will also help you stretch and strengthen your body

Weight Loss Yoga:
Our third video is also fairly short - just 11 minutes.  It is also yoga, but designed to really target weight loss I hope you enjoy it.   

As usual, if today's workout doesn't float your boat, you have 8 days worth of workouts to choose instead, or you can take a 30 minute walk.  Just remember to get moving.

Today we're going to do something a little different - we are going to workout the muscles of our face and neck (yes, you can really tone and exercise those muscles). 

As usual, if today's workout does not grab you, feel free to do the workout from another day, or take a walk to get your workout today.  Today's workout can be done in your office - you may want to close your door to prevent folks from watching you, because it does look a little silly.  There is no equipment needed for any of these exercises. 


We'll start with Face Yoga - this video is about 9 minutes:




Our second video is about 5 minutes, and it's called How to Get Rid of a Double Chin:
 

Our third video is 13 minutes long - it is actually the first of 4 in a series, so if you love this one, you can haunt YouTube for the other three.  


As usual, if you don't love the workout option for today, you can do the workout from any other day, or take a walk for your exercise.  Just so long as you get moving somehow, your workout counts.  

If you're interested, It Works does have a great facial which would work to tone and hydrate the skin of your face.  I would be happy to speak with you about it.  Our body wrap can also be used on your neck - one body wrap becomes 6 chin wraps, and they have incredible results which could supplement your workouts.

Our third video is also fairly short - just 10 minutes.  It is dance inspired, and designed to get you lean legs and help work off your saddlebags.  I hope you enjoy it.  This one can be done at the office, depending on what you happen to be wearing. 


Office video:

Today's office workout is not a video - use your break to take a short walk (even if you have to stay in the building.  Whenever you have to change directions, do 5 squats.

We'll do a little work on our arms again today (we want to keep up the good work and get consistant progress), and then we'll do some intensive work on our abs.  As usual, you decide how much you're going to do, and which videos are for you. 

If the focus of any day is now what you are looking for, you can always go back and repeat a workout you preferred, or take a brisk 20 minute walk. 


Tank Top Arms:
This ten minute video requires small dumbbells or waterbottles.  It is designed to help you work your upper back, shoulders and arms. 




Flat Tummy- Lower Ab Workout:
This video will take about 8 minutes and will focus on your lower abs.  






Dancers' Body Standing Abs:
Our third video is very short - just 6 minutes.  You won't need any equipment for this video.  You will be moving around the whole time.  In addition to working on your abs, you'll notice that you move the rest of your body a fair amount.  



Office video:

3-Minute Ab and Belly Chair Exercises- This simple video is crunch free and office ready.

Ballet Floor Barre
This is our one long video, so if you don't have 30 minutes, feel free to skip it today.  It is ballet pre-barre work done on the floor.  It will tone your butt, abs and inner thighs.  It will also work your feet and arms.

Welcome to week 2 (I've decided that we're operating by standard work week, so Monday is the start of our week).  I hope that your first couple days went well.  Remember to let me know if particular videos (or types of video) work well for you so that we do more of them in the rest of the challenge. 

Today we're going to do some fat burning. 

Low Impact Cardio Workout: No-Jump Belly Fat Burner
This ten minute video requires no eequipment.  It is a cardeo interval video.  It will help you burn belly fat. 



Fat Burning HIIT Pilates Workout
This is our one long video, so if you don't have 30 minutes, feel free to skip it today.  It is pilates and cardeo in combination.  This video requires no equipment, but you can use an optional dumbbell to increase the difficulty.

Discover the You Inside - Day 3

So, depending on how much you did of yesterday's workout, it's likely that your legs are fairly sore today... so I thought we'd give your legs a rest, and focus on your arms today.  I know that my arms and shoulders can always use the attention. 

Most of these can be done at the office (the possible exception being video #3, which requires weights you may not KEEP at the office).  Feel free to space them out if you decide to do all of the arm routines - they are great routines, but especially as you do them for the first time, you will probably feel the burn in your arms by the end of each video.

BAT WINGS, get rid of flabby triceps

We'll start with a  7 minute video that focuses on our upper arms.  This video will allow you to us a small dumbbell - you can replace this with a full water bottle if you do not have one.  You can also do the whole video without equipment.



5 Minute Arms

Our second video is very short - just 5 minutes.  Of course, you are not alowed to put your arms down for the full run-time of the video, so you can REALLY feel those 5 minutes.   This is one of my favorite arm exercise routines.  You will not need any equipment for this video, just your arms and some perseveranceI hope you enjoy it.  


How To Lose Arm Fat

Our third video runs about 13 minutes. As I mentioned above, you will want weights (or tin cans) for this video.  I am offering variety so that you can let me know what your preferences are.
